Tillandsia 'Double Ruth' is a hybrid between T. magnusiana and T. compressa. Created by Paul T. Isley of Rainforest Flora, a massive Bromeliad nursery i had the pleasure to visit in California. 'Double Ruth' has the shape of magnusiana but with a slightly wider, stiffer leaf, it has a lovely color, silvery/grey with purplish shades towards the middle. The flower spike is an improvement on magnusiana and reminiscent of the pollen parent T. compressa, it comes out of the rosette much further and is more flat, paddle shaped. Im excited to be growing this new hybrid. This should be an easy plant to grow. High light levels and a good regular wetting/drying.
