Tillandsia aeranthos is an easy and rewarding species to grow.

Native to Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina from near sea level to several hundred meters altitude. It is known as the ‘Carnation of the sky’ by the Argentineans and is very popular with Hummingbirds that love the nectar. It grows into clumps of up to a dozen or more rosettes and is a regular and easy bloomer, flowering in the spring with lovely pink bracts and deep purple flowers.

It is easy to grow, given bright, filtered light and regular wetting and drying.

I have singles and small clumps/twins available.

Stunning

This is not the first nor the last air plant I will get from Andy. Every plant I have had from Andy have been very clearly loved and cared for. I am obsessed with this beautiful plant and it is almost flowering! I cannot wait to see it in full bloom! Thank you Andy!

Subtle colour part 2

Further to my previous post I am pleased to update that my plant from Andy has produced the most magnificent bloom not only with its stunning electric colours but also the longevity of the bloom. This certainly ranks as the best flowering tillandsia, in every aspect, that I have in my collection. My photos bear witness to my praise of this wonderful plant and one which I shall now never be without.
