Tillandsia bulbosa is a unique species that has a bulbous shape.
It has a wide distribution in the wild, from Mexico and the West Indies, through central America, Ecuador and Northern Brazil.
In the wild this species has a symbiotic association with ants which can live in the leaf base cavities, as does several other species like seleriana, butzii and others.
This species is easy to grow and eventually makes a nice clump. It likes medium light levels and regular wetting. It is tolerant higher humidity and less air movement, making it suitable for bathrooms and terrariums.
Plant received in great condition
The bulbosa I received from is a gorgeous specimen. It's clearly been well cared for before reaching me and was carefully packaged inside reams of padding within a sturdy box. It looks wonderful perched in a concrete holder on my windowsill.
Great plants. I thought you might like this Andy - a few years back now when I started collecting air plants from you we went on holiday and left our son with a list of jobs to do whilst we were away - one of which was to spray the air plants. When we got back he said the only plants he could see 'in the air' were my plastic plants I had on top of the kitchen cupboards. So he'd sprayed those for me! My air plants survived despite this.
Healthy, beautiful plants packaged with care. I’ll definitely be recommending Andy’s air plants to friends.
I want to says thank you. As really loving all of it and I will be back for more. Really appreciated
