Tillandsia capillaris is a miniature species native to Southern and Western South America where it grows on scrub and Cacti. It is in the sub genus Diaphoranthema which contains other miniatures like aizoides, bryoides and usneoides or Spanish Moss. It forms small clumps quickly, will form a spherical clump like a ball. It has tiny, tiny flowers that are easily missed. It is very easy to grow with mid to high light levels and regular wetting and drying.
This Tillandsia capillaris f. andina is the name that i have with this plant. However it is not a botanicaly recognized name.
