Tillandsia ionantha var. vanhyningii Has now been elevated to species level and so now the correct name is Tillandsia vanhyningii. First described to science in 1957 by Mulford B. Foster. This species was found growing in Sumidero Canyon of Chiapas, Mexico, growing along steep limestone cliffs in large formations. This canyon has now become a Dam. Im not sure if it even exists in the wild anymore.

Unusual Ionantha

This is a really nice, chunky, almost succulent, stem growing ionantha which has a red blush in higher light levels. Whilst most ionantha's look quite similar, this is a real standout and highly unusual among it's type!
Healthy and well packaged as always!
