Tillandsia paleacea ssp appurimacensis is a sub-species of T. paleacea.
It is named after the region Apurimac in Peru where it is found growing towards the sea in coastal deserts. It has soft furry, silver leaves and produces a flower spike with lovely scented, purple flowers. This species is slow growing but easy to keep in high light levels or full sun with regular misting and good air-movement.
