Tillandsia vicentina is a wonderful, large growing Tillandsia species. The plant is named after its type locality The Volcano of San Salvador. The plant is native to Central America from Mexico to Peru. This is a high altitude plant 1500 to 3000 meters above sea level where it can be found growing on trees and scrub.
As you can see in the picture this species has a wonderful and colorful large flower spike.
Tillandsia vicentina is relatively easy to grow, it prefers cooler more humid conditions, it can take bright light. It likes to root onto a mount with added medium or tree fern. It grows very well in a pot with potting bark. Pot compost and hangers are available separately.
These are very nice large plants available.
When my last order arrived i was expecting a "large" plant of vincentina but what arrived was an amazing plant with a flower scape 30cm tall and ready to expand its flowering branches.Fantastic and well worth the price, thank you Andy...again.
