Billbergia x windii is not uncommon in cultivation in Britain. It has a very nice inflorescence as you can see in my pictures. It does not require too much sun and is very easy to grow.
This plant is said to be one of the first man made Bromeliad hybrids, between B. nutans and B decora in the 1870's at the Botanic gardens of Belgium. There is a great article by Dereck Butcher available online about this plant.
