Tillandsia capillaris is a miniature species native to Southern and Western South America where it grows on scrub and Cacti. It is in the sub genus Diaphoranthema which contains other miniatures like aizoides, bryoides and usneoides or Spanish Moss. It forms small clumps quickly, will form a spherical clump like a ball. It has tiny, tiny flowers that are easily missed. It is very easy to grow with mid to high light levels and regular wetting and drying.
This is Tillandsia capillaris f. compacta. Again I cannot find much reference to this name, however in my collection these capillaris forms are notably different. And I keep them under the names that I aquired them under.
Small clumps for sale.
