Tillandsia espinosae is a wonderful species from Ecuador and Peru.
This species is stoloniferous, meaning that new pups or vegetative growths are born on runners that stretch out from the parent plant making for an interesting plant with off-sets looking like satellites stretching out from the parent plant.
This is a very easy species to grow, in high light levels or full sun, with very good air-movement, making sure that water does not sit for too long in the leaf bases which can cause rot.
It makes a great looking clump after several years growth.
Here is a flowering size specimen mounted on drift wood.
