Tillandsia paleacea comes from Colombia through Peru to Bolivia and Northern Chile.
It grows in various habitats from rocks and cliff faces to epiphytically on scrub bushes and also on sand along the Peruvian coastal deserts. It has soft furry, silver leaves and produces a flower spike with lovely scented, purple flowers.
This species is slow growing but easy to keep in high light levels or full sun with regular misting and good air-movement.
I have single plants of this available at £6.
