Tillandsia pringlei is a fascinating species, discovered in 1623 in Mexico. It has been renamed and shuffled about taxcinomicay since. It was recently named as T. utriculata ssp. pringlei but now has species rank. It has also been confused with T. karwinskiana. This plant is saxicolus or rock growing and xeric or dry growing and sun loving.
Tillandsia pringlei has nice blue/grey leaves, it produces many pups before flowering. The flower spike is very impressive, tall, branched, pink bracts and white flowers.
This is a very choice and rarely offered species.
