Tillandsia pseudobaileyi is an interesting and attractive species from Mexico to Nicaragua. It has a wonderful wavy shape with stiff leaves that have nice purple lines or markings. When the plant reaches maturity and starts to flower it colors up purple and produces a red and purple flower spike with purple tubular flowers. A very colorful plant.
It is myrmecophyte meaning in the wild it plays host to ant populations, this species is also ageotropic meaning it can grow irrespective of gravitational direction, even upside down. These traits are also found in species like butzii, bulbosa and caput-medusae.
I have small plants available and a few very nice large specimens.
