Tillandsia streptocarpa grows epiphytically in woods or saxicolously on rocks in Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay and Brazil.
It is similar in appearance to T. duratii but is smaller in size. It has lovely soft velvety leaves and an long, graceful flower stem with beautifully scented purple flowers. It makes a nice multi flowering clump in time.
This species likes high light levels or full sun with regular misting and good air-movement.
At the moment i have a couple of very large flowering size plants.
Nice big plant with flower spike developing on it. Very pleased as with other purchases.
The plants (it's a long list!) that I have bought Andy's Air Plants have all been in amazing condition and thriving at my home (and garden during this hot spell), Tillandsia Streptocarpa is a stunning species!
Similar to the duratii but with flowing rather than curly leaf ends. Very nice.
