Tillandsia streptocarpa grows epiphytically in woods or saxicolously on rocks in Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay and Brazil.

 

It is similar in appearance to T. duratii but is smaller in size. It has lovely soft velvety leaves and an long, graceful flower stem with beautifully scented purple flowers. It makes a nice multi flowering clump in time.

This species likes high light levels or full sun with regular misting and good air-movement.

This is an XL plant

Ordered the XL option of this air plant which was received with a flower stalk already formed and ready to flower. Very pleased with this choice as I don't really have space for a duratii which, I believe, can get very large. Each leaf forms a kind of small whorl at the end so it looks a little like a catherine wheel, which is an added bonus. Excellent condition as always.
